NewMakeIt and The Makers Mark announce an exciting alliance to bring together and support local makers, a group hit particularly hard by the pandemic.
NewMakeIt and The Maker’s Mark are pleased to announce a new collaboration, with the express goal of creating opportunities and increasing support for artisans and makers in the community.
NewMakeIt is a non-profit creative space facility in Newmarket, offering a variety of classes, workshops, and a membership space for the community. It provides makers with room to start a hobby or business, innovate, expand their creative skills, and provides a rich entrepreneurial environment.
The Maker’s Mark is an artisan boutique located in Newmarket that is focused on supporting local makers by providing them with a high-end retail space and a robust online store to sell their handmade goods. It has carefully curated a variety of unique handmade products from over a hundred Canadian makers. The Maker’s Mark also hosts creative workshops in its purpose-built workshop space at the back of the store. It even boasts a corporate gift box service using only handmade products, aptly dubbed The Maker’s Box.
This collaboration allows both NewMakeIt and The Makers Mark to increase its offering with additional interesting and educational programs, as well as provide greater access to resources and opportunities for makers and artists in the community to expand their commercial presence.
“This collaboration provides a huge benefit to local artisans, creators and makers in the community not only by allowing greater access to learning and creating, but increasing the ability to showcase and market their creations.”
- Ryan Dibisch, Co-Founder, NewMakeIt
“Our two organizations have such perfectly aligned goals to support and advance the local creative community. It only made sense to work together. By joining forces, we’re able to support more makers, and to support them more comprehensively, than we would be able to alone.”
